Kurt & Quinn Puck & Blaine Nick & Jeff Mike & Tina | What if the close-knit Glee family were more than just friends? What if the fate of their parents meant some of the beloved members of New Directions and the Warblers were family? Discovering here how things could have been different if eight of the Gleeks had family connections before Kurt and Finn had to find their feet as stepbrothers. Kurt & Quinn, Puck & Blaine, Nick & Jeff, and Mike & Tina are connected by family ties, so what would have happened differently, and how would things have twisted and changed? [ Glee AU from the beginning of Season 2 ] In this verse, Kurt and Quinn are biological siblings, Puck and Blaine are stepbrothers, Mike and Tina are siblings via adoption, and Nick and Jeff are siblings via fostering. Details of their backgrounds are outlined below.  |
| KURT & QUINN ♥ Lucy Quinn Fabray was born to Karen and Joseph Fabray, and whilst her beautiful mother couldn't have been happier with her new baby girl, her biological father was a bastard who was resentful that the baby wasn't a boy. He had been determined to get a son as first born, coming from a rich and snooty background and his parents never approved of the average girl nextdoor type that Karen was. He ended up walking out on her when Quinn was just a month old, and it was Karen's old high school sweetheart, Burt Hummel, that came to the rescue and helped her. They used to be so deeply in love and when he helped her out, the old sparks were discovered again and they soon reunited romantically, complete with a quickie wedding with Burt vowing to do the right thing this time, taking care of her and the baby, even if she wasn't biologically his. It was only three months after their wedding when Quinn was nearly three months old that Karen discovered she was pregnant again. Apparently the age-old myth that you couldn't get pregnant when breastfeeding was very debunked. And whilst things were already tight, both Karen and Burt couldn't have been more happier to have another baby on the way. Seven months later, and six weeks premature, they welcomed son, Kurt. The family were so close as the children grew up and Quinn and Kurt were inseparable. But when Quinn was ten and Kurt a week shy of his ninth birthday, Karen succumbed to a long battle with breast cancer and died, leaving Burt a single father of the two children. It was a struggle losing their mom, and Burt did the best he could, even if his own grief caused him to struggle and slip in bonding with his children, especially Kurt who needed the father figure. It was during this time that Kurt and Quinn's relationship just strengthened to water-tight. But they got there in the end, and now Burt has met a new love in the mother of Kurt and Quinn's classmate (and Quinn's ex), Finn Hudson. PUCK & BLAINE ♥ Noah Puckerman's father was an epic Lima Loser of all proportions. He couldn't hold a job, he was a boozer, he verbally abused Puck's mother, and ended up walking out on the family when Puck was pre-teen. Puck hated him for it, and because of the confusion over his broken family, started to act out and get into a lot of trouble. It was only when his mom met another guy years later and fell in love that Puck began to wonder if he should change his reckless ways. It was Steven Anderson that Susannah Puckerman fell for early in Puck's sophomore year. He had not long broken up with his wife, who had an affair, and was going through a divorce when they met, and they hit it off easily after just a couple of dates. It was almost like the deal was signed, sealed and delivered when Puck also hit it off with Steven's youngest son, Blaine, who was the same age. They became friends and it made it easier on the couple for dating. But it all went horribly wrong when Blaine came out of the closet and Puck didn't quite know how to deal with the fact his new friend liked guys. He got confused and they had a fight... right before Blaine was the victim of an horrific gay bashing and ended up unconscious in hospital for three weeks battling the injuries. Steven sat vigil at his bedside day in, day out, whilst Puck's confusion over Blaine being so terribly hurt caused him to act out even more. It was the bashing that panicked Steven into attempts to 'turn his son straight', by getting him to do masculine activities like restoring an old car. Blaine's mother was distinctly homophobic and disapproved of her son's 'choice' to be gay. It was never an issue for Steven until Blaine was bashed and he just wanted his son safe, thinking being gay in Ohio was clearly a danger. Blaine was in a bad way following the bashing, and tried to take his own life by overdosing, but was saved at the last minute by Steven's mother. After the failed attempts to get Blaine to renegotiate his sexuality, it was eventually Susannah who helped Steven realise trying to force Blaine straight wasn't going to be the fix and they would just all have to support him as a family to protect him. Steven promptly got down on one knee and proposed to her and she accepted. They were married during the summer following Puck and Blaine's sophomore year, but Blaine missed so much school from the bashing, he was forced to repeat and change schools, with Steven insisting he go to Dalton Academy to be more protected with their zero tolerance policy. But Puck continued to struggle with Blaine's sexuality and the guilt riddling him of Blaine being bashed and Puck not being able to protect him. He didn't hate gay people, he just didn't understand it, and didn't understand it even more now how people could just hate his brother for his sexual preference. It led him to stealing an ATM at the beginning of his junior year and ending up in juvie. He now realises he has to face Blaine and try to explain how he feels, because deep down, he couldn't be more prouder to have Blaine as a brother and being gay is just part of him. NICK & JEFF ♥ Jeff Hinton was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and lived there until he was ten years old. He was a happy kid who was diagnosed with ADHD, so he was always excitable and friendly. However, things took a turn for the worst for him when his parents and older sister were killed in a terrible car crash by a drunk driver. Jeff only survived because his mother shielded him on impact, but he was left an orphan. It was the large Matheson family of Jacksonville, Florida, who already had five children of their own, who took Jeff in and fostered him. It was hard and Jeff was clearly emotionally distressed, but it was his link to the oldest Matheson child, Nick, who was the same age as Jeff, that helped him through it. Nick and Jeff became close quickly, sharing a bedroom and a lot of common interests. Nick, being a kind-hearted and arty child, helped Jeff through the grief and soon the young blond boy began to return to his old self. Jeff remained a permanent fixture with the Matheson family and his custody was awarded to them legally. When both boys were 15, the Mathesons sent them to boarding school at Dalton Academy in Westerville, Ohio so they could have the best education. The family were well-off, and money was never an issue for making sure their children had the best. But Jeff was sometimes still plagued with terrible nightmares from the accident, and Nick was extremely protective of him because of it, helping him through them as much as he could. He demanded they share a room at Dalton, or else he was going to chain himself to a tree at the beach back home and never leave. Dalton was happy to accommodate the request, and the boys began their high school life at Dalton together and they're now in their sophomore year at the all-boys school. TINA & MIKE ♥ Mike and Tina became brother and sister when they were both babies. Mike was born to Michael and Julia Chang, and a year later, Julia's best friend from China died during childbirth due to complications. Despite having a new baby of their own who was definitely a handful, Michael and Julia adopted the baby girl as their own, keeping her mother's surname and hyphenating it with their own. Tina always knew she was adopted with Michael and Julia having told her when she was old enough to understand about her real mom. Though, despite not being related by blood, Tina and Mike grew up every bit the close siblings. They bickered like normal brother and sister, but would fiercely protect each other, no matter what the circumstances. But as Tina reached her teens, she got confused over being an adopted kid, and her shyness kicked in with a vengeance, exhibiting as her turning Goth and faking a stutter to try and be more accepted. Mike didn't really understand it, being a quick and shy kid himself with their parents somewhat strict in their upbringing. He just went along with Tina's mask and it was only when they both joined Glee Club and New Directions that they really began to come out of their shells and shine. Neither sibling has yet to face the prospect of the other dating, and it could get messy if that ever happens. Mike has threatened every fellow member of his football team with certain ninja death if they touch his sister, and Tina has subtly informed the school sluts via the McKinley grapevine that Mike can't get it up so they don't touch him. It is going to get interesting if someone shows either of them some interest when they've only ever had to look out for each other. | |
